Hotel Transylvania (2012) Review

A funny well-made animation film about a Dracula (voiced by Adam Sandler) who wants to keep his daughter, Mavis (Selena Gomez) safe from the world of humans when suddenly a human boy, Jonathan (Andy Samberg) walks into his very own secret hotel for monsters.

The movie is a family film, and mostly I find family films to be a but dull and predictable, and though this film had its ‘that’s ridiculous’ moments, it was still alright overall.

The graphics were well done, and the jokes weren’t too corny or cliche. It engaged me more than I thought it would have as the fast-pace and the constant problems that came up kept me with it. And if you watch the trailer, 0:17 is a tad too creepy and scary for little ones I think, but it is kind of funny because its so random.

The ending was a bit ordinary, since that was predictable, but overall the film was funny, creative and at times heartwarming. A good movie to entertain the young ones, and not so bad that it wouldn’t keep older audiences occupied as well.

Overall, I give this a 7/10.

P.S. I didn’t really notice this, but the voice cast is actually very good- I mean a lot of famous people are in this.
