R (Nicholas Hoult) is a zombie with a heart. He saves Julie (Teresa Palmer) from being eaten by his fellow zombie mates and from then on they bond like no other zombie-human has. Quite ridiculous really, but it was well made and quite funny.
The ending is just kinda meh…and like the rest of the movie slightly ridiculous but it just kinda gives hope I guess. It’d be a bad movie if it didn’t end well. Or rather it wouldn’t be a popular movie.
Anyways Julie is still sad about Perry (Dave Franco- who looks like Zac Efron but is actually the younger brother of James Franco) who was eaten…when suddenly this weird zombie who saves her life starts to like her. Its kinda cute really.
The film was pretty short and it was predictable but the kind of ‘dead’ humor kept it alive and the cuteness of it (and the creepiness) was fun to watch.
Also, it was done in the Point Of View of R and his thoughts throughout the movie were quite entertaining, that was a good aspect. I wish Analeigh Tipton who plays Nora- a friend of Julie’s had more screen time. She was really funny and has this sweet side to her – which was seen in Crazy Stupid Love, a hilarious movie.
Overall, this was an interesting, funny, cute and entertaining movie to watch for a Friday night just to relax. Interesting story and was portrayed well enough though the ending was a bit ridiculous. OK fine it was sweet and I’m glad it ended that way…but it was just kinda too unbelievable.
Anywho I give this a 7/10.
